Logistics services provider GEODIS has launched GEODIS AirSmart, a new low carbon solution designed to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions related to airfreight.

The launch took place at the transport logistic trade fair in Munich today (June 2).

GEODIS AirSmart selects the most energy-efficient aircraft and routeing possible to minimise GHG emissions.

“Leveraging external flight data and advanced analytics tools, the solution enables smarter routing decisions while enhancing performance”, the company informed.

The new offering aligns with GEODIS’s pledge to reduce absolute airfreight emissions by 25% by 2030.

GEODIS AirSmart is available to all its customers through the company’s digital platforms. GEODIS is describing it as “a unique key differentiator in the freight forwarding industry increasingly focused on carbon-conscious performance”.

Henri Le Gouis, executive vice president global freight forwarding at GEODIS, described GEODIS AirSmart as “a game-changer” for the company and its customers.
